Yoshi places his palm flat on the dingy wooden counter, balancing himself so he could lean down to talk to the disinterested receptionist.She hardly looks at him, more focused on chewing sap as loudly and as obnoxiously as possible.Yoshi’s eye twitches but he is far too tired to fight right now, “One room.”The lady finally glances up from her nails and gives Yoshi a dull look as if he was speaking a forgotten language.“Please.” Yoshi adds in an exasperated sigh.She smacks her gum and gives a sideways glance to Sammy, who was perched quietly on Yoshi’s shoulder.

“There’s an extra fee for pets,” She states, with a hint of disgust.Yoshi’s eye twitches again as he shifts his steely gaze to his ‘pet’, “She’ll be staying outside.”Sammy squawks disapprovingly. Her face was as irritated as a dragon-bird could express. Nonetheless, she disappears into poof and a brilliant swirl of light.

The receptionist, not amused or impressed in the slightest, blows a bubble of gum, “That’ll be thirty-four.”
